Drogheda Hosts CoderDojo Global Conference

Drogheda & Slane Castle Host CoderDojo Global Conference - DojoCon 2013

Drogheda will host the CoderDojo Global Mentor Conference 'DojoCon' on April 12-13 2013.


Drogheda is the host city for the Global CoderDojo Mentor 2 day conference on April 12th and 13th 2013.

the event has speakers and attendees from more than 10 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Germany, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, Ireland and Belgium and aims to have over 200 attendees in total.

This is also a very unique and iconic technology event and is supported by RTE Digital with potentially very big exposure for Drogheda and the region in the media.

Conference Speakers Include:

  • Una Fox of ITLG and CoderDojo L.A (Los Angeles)
  • David Cuartilles of Arduino (Sweden)

  • Kimberly Bryant of Black Girls CODE (San Francisco)

Companies at the conference will include Google, Arduino, RTE Digital, TCD, PiPiper, DELL, DkIT, GitHub and Science Foundation Ireland.

The orgainisting team includes Graham O'Rourke, Paul Browne, Michelle Graham, Stephen Howell & James Crook with a huge level of support from within the CoderDojo movement and businesses locally.

"Drogheda on the Boyne offers the perfect opening location for DojoCon.  The river Boyne, where once the Salmon of Knowledge swam, provides the ideal backdrop of the venue for the Friday night Ignite talks. Inspiration and shared experienced will feature heavily in this event to be held in Bru, Bar Bistro."

The event is supported locally by Drogheda Borough Council, Drogheda Enterprise Centre, Louth Economic Forum and Louth County Enterprise Board and Lord Henry Mount Charles of Slane Castle. 

The event is listed as an official Gathering event on the Tourism Ireland website.
